- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 strips crispy bacon
- 4 sturdy hamburger buns
- 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
- 1 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium ripe tomato, sliced
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
Instructions
- Gather and prep all ingredients: chop onions and slice tomatoes.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper; shape into four patties, about ¾-inch thick.
- Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy (5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- Heat grill or pan to medium-high; cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- During the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- Assemble burgers on toasted buns: layer with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and patties. Finish with mustard and ketchup.
