Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- Caramel sauce (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until golden brown, then pour into a baking dish to form the caramel layer.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and sugar. Add melted butter and eggs; mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, blend sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla until creamy.
- Pour the chocolate batter over the cooled caramel layer, followed by the flan mixture on top—do not mix.
- Place the baking dish in a larger dish filled with hot water (water bath). Bake for 60-70 minutes or until set.
- Let cool completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours. Once chilled, flip onto a plate to reveal beautiful layers.
